HOW IT WORKS

The SimCity 4 Multiplayer Project (SC4MP) brings seamless multiplayer gameplay to SimCity 4. No more file-swapping. just pick a server, and the launcher does the rest.


1. Join a Server

Use the SC4MP Launcher to browse servers. Upon joining, the Launcher will download all the necessary files to a special sandboxed directory, separate from your singleplayer plugins and reigons. Once the download, is complete, the game will launch automatically.

2. Claim a Tile

Once you've loaded into the game, you can claim any unoccupied tile in any region. Load the tile and save your game like you would normally. Once the save has been registered on the server, you've claimed the tile and nobody else can modify it until your claim expires.

3. Build

Save your game periodically as you build your city. The Launcher will push your saves to the server as you build. If you lose internet connection, or the server is unreachable, you can save again once you reconnect, or salvage your city the next time you rejoin the server.


Anyone is free to host a server on SC4MP using their own hardware. Server owners have a wide range of options available to configure their server to their liking, including but not limited to: claim limits, configurable claim durations, password protection and more.
